The Intruder ships of the JemHadar are very agile and powerful fighting ships represent a large part of the Dominion fleet. They usually occur in groups of 3, and therefore are almost in all the battles as winner. For experienced captains with modern ships of Starfleet, it is possible to destroy such a squadron. In most cases, however, two or more Star Fleet ships needed in order to survive. As the Dominion in the early 70s of the 24th Century represented a growing threat, the USS Defiant from Deep Space 9 was guard the Bajoran wormhole. This new ship of Starfleet was at the time, the best armed ships of Starfleet and could compete with the attack of the JemHadar hunters.
